Reid Energy Center
The Reid Energy Center is a proposed 20 megawatt / 80 megawatt-hour energy storage project that will interconnect to an existing NOVEC substation. At peak output, this project will discharge the electricity necessary to power nearly 15,000 homes for a 4 hour period.
The project will be sited on the approximately 3 acres of land off of Reid Lane, which is behind existing vegetation that shields the property from the road.
Please note that the rendering shown is a representation of a general BESS project – appearance varies from project to project.
PROJECT A GLANCE:
- Electrical grid impact: Enhance the reliability and resiliency of the local electrical grid
- Economic Impact: Contribute to the county’s economic development – will pay significant taxes to Prince William County.
- Environmental impact: The project has no air pollutions emissions and limited noise pollution
- Safety: The project will adhere to all relevant codes and standards for battery energy storage systems consistent with industry standards. We will coordinate closely with the relevant Fire Departments including, but not limited to, Fire Station 25 – Linton Hall.
